HUD randomly stopped working, any ideas?

Hey y'all.

Last night on my way home I noticed my HUD wasn't working. I have attempted everything I can think of with the 3 buttons that operate it and nothing is working. This morning, the problem is still persisting.

Is there a rest procedure for this, or am I needing to go to the dealer for a service visit?

Any help appreciated, thanks!

Is your dash light knob turned all the way down? Also could be a fuse. Just guessing. Is there anything on your dash blocking the hud?

Thanks for the advice, but yes, I checked my dimmer switch right away and everything is all the way up. There is nothing blocking it either.

I haven't checked the fuse, do you happen to know which one is for the HUD and where it is located?

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 15-20 mins. Reconnect and give it a shot.

Look in your owner's manual at the interior control fuse block. Has them listed. I would look it up for you but I don't have access as I'm over the road currently.

It is not the fuse. Disconnect the neg batt cable.

HUD controls are super wonky.

Had the same thing occur. Nothing was broken. I had apparently pressed the wrong button while cleaning the interior/wiping dust causing the HUD to go dark. Had to look in the owner's manual to figure out how to get it back on. The HUD controls are far from intuitive... Unfortunately, been long enough that I don't remember the trick.

That happened to me a few years ago. I disconnected the negative battery cable for a few minutes and it came back. Luckily no problems since.

Don't disconnect the battery if you are going to get a state inspection soon. It clears the emission sensors and it takes a few days for them to reset.

Thanks guys. Negative terminal is disconnected now. Hopefully this fixes it.

Well that did the trick!

Also, for a little humor, my dumbass closed the trunk and had to subsequently take out my kids car seat, pull down the rear seat and crawl all the way in there to release the trunk.

Appreciate the help everyone.

Glad it worked. FYI - anytime anything electrical stops working/acting goofy...always try the battery disconnect trick first. It forces a reboot of the modules I believe.

Could have just removed that fuse. Removes power from that point just like a battery disconnect.
