2019 SS Red 6 Piston Performance Brake Option?
Hi,
If a 2019 Camaro SS (non 1LE) is ordered with the upgraded performance 6 piston front brake option (front and rear red calipers), does the vehicle purchaser get the factory calipers and rotors? The reason I'm asking is that it looks as though it's a dealer installed option. Thanks, Tyrolblue67 |

Mine came with this option (non 1le). I personally didn't but I would try and ask the salesman the details regarding that. Its the only way to get a SS camaro IMO with the 6 piston upfront and 4 piston in rear, otherwise why bother.

If it is a dealer installed item then yes, you are supposed to get the original 4 piston front/rear black calipers after the dealer installs the red 6 piston front and red 4 piston rear calipers.

So you're glad your car has the big brake option? Regards, Tyrolblue67 |

yeah I when I was looking to buy I told myself I cant buy this car unless it has 6 piston front brakes, because 4 is honestly just looks plain ugly. My local dealer ordered a 2SS w/ the brake upgrade and performance package & Magride basically the ZL1 suspension package, so its track ready. Its a rare find so if you can find one w/o ordering I would buy it. its cheaper its only a $3500 option, vs paying like $7k for a whole set aftermarket. |
