Does the removal of the secondary cat cause problems for passing emissions testing?

Hmm, not sure, can't really help. It would probably depend on the area? But I believe they really are just resonators, they're not monitored by sensors or anything. But I believe most emission laws state that "Any modification to a factory emissions system is illegal save for those prior to 19xx" etc.

Yep sure thing. The clearance issues I had may be specific to the pipes that I got. But either way, when you get it all in, just put your hand up and feel all along those connection pipes that I circled and make sure you have at least a fingers width at that carrier bracket (As my techs called it). While everything is still loose, give those pipes a little spin, oil filter pliers helped a lot since we clamped it down before we realized the problem. The steel is VERY sturdy and tough, you aren't going to dimple, let alone scratch, them or straighten them out either, lol. Those were two ideas my techs had but I wasn't going for it. A little massaging was all it needed.

You're going to love how it sounds.

Its things like this that makes forums like this awesome. Thanks again. I hope I like the sound as I was embarrassed to drive it as it is just too quiet stock. I don't know if its because the z06 has no back seat or separation from the hatch area or if the arh setup into the factory npp is just that much better but I love the sound of the z06 in track mode. I have run between two cars on a three lane highway at 70 in 3rd and watched the two cars part like the red sea.

ARH into stock NPP on the Z06s is to die for, I can attest to that. Won't be quite as loud as that as you ditch the primary cats with a LT Header setup. But the Corsa/60606 is still loud and sounds great.

I have Borla Xpipe going into borla S-type, factory headers. The startup in the garage made my detailer almost shit on himself. He wasn't ready. Can only imagine how it will sound with headers and green cats.

Got the ZL1 to the shop today and installed the exhaust. A few takeaways…

What this setup does:
1. Eliminates Factory Secondary Cats/Resonators
2. Eliminates Factory X Pipe and replaces with a much cleaner looking X
3. Eliminates ugly crushed rear section
4. Eliminates the big suitcase muffler
5. Gives you a full cat-back exhaust with Corsa mufflers
6. A slightly larger -- Never mind, probably not.

The Good:
1. Everything fit together perfectly like it was made for each other. All clamps are high quality and had zero problems.
2. Bolts right in without cutting anything, can be reset to stock in half an hour.
3. Sounds absolutely incredible. Very loud bark on start ups, very loud when hammering it, the sound is perfect. Not too deep, not high pitched, aggressive and there’s ZERO drone.
4. Extremely tame below 3000 RPM. Cruising at 85-90 MPH all the way home and I couldn’t tell it from stock. Quiets right down.
5. No cutting, no harm to factory setup.

The Bad:
1. The Stock Exhaust can be a bit of a bear to remove, at least it was for us. The problem was on the driver side where it slides into the primary cat. It just didn’t want to pull free no matter what angle we tried, finally we wiggled it enough to get it out.
2. The X Pipe did rattle on decel when we first test drove it. After putting it back up on the lift twice, we found the problem was the fairly straight connection pipes were bouncing off of a carrier bracket/bolt by the drive-shaft. The pipes in that area are arched high to clear the cross-brace member, a little too high IMO, but by rotating the arches to the center, we gained 1/4”-1/2” of clearance and so far zero rattles or problems, again drives like stock, except it sounds a lot better.

Can’t recommend this setup enough for those wanting more sound, possibly a bit of power, and no cutting/messing with the factory system. Keep everything loose until it’s aligned, tip the arched connection pipes (Between the cat-connection pipes and X pipe) inward towards the center of the car, and you’re good to go.

The sound, as I said, is awesome. I’ll try to capture some videos of it and will post it here. Lots of bark on start up, revs are aggressive (Below 3500), hammering on it in gear and it’s thunderous. Quiet and zero drone while cruising with the A10.

Any questions, drop them below and I’ll see if I can answer them.

Pics added to give a rough representation of how I had to tip them in just a bit.
Awesome! Can't wait to view the vid. I'm seriously thinking about this exact setup.

Hmm...I would think it's identical. The Borla X pipe was for the SS originally. The only thing would be AFM valves if you have them, I think if you get the 60606 and just unplug the AFM's you'll get a check engine light but cannot confirm that.

Check this out: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520164

That's what he was running. PM him and see what he says.

I ran into the exact same problem on mine too (I kept the OEM suitcase though).

Those small bends at the ends were rubbing the carrier bracket, rattled bad on decel and a start from stop.

I'm enjoying mine. The sound increase alone from just the 60606 was worth it.

Did you fix it or are you living with the rattling?
