Callaway LT1

I knew they made a ZL1 version, but an LT1? Very interesting car. It appears to still have the 245s out back. 630HP.

So it's essentially a supercharged LT1 for stock ZL1 money that has that ugly ass front fascia (IMO).

Some idiot will buy it to impress random people at their local Tim Hortons.

Don’t see anything negative about the car! If a person wants to buy one then go for it is what I say.

Only advantage is the LT1 version is $9,000 less than a base ZL1. So you can get that power cheaper.

Go to an SS and I think you are correct, might actually end up spending more.

It’s an old release back in August of 2020. The newest 2021 are already out. I think it’s okay if that’s the set up you want. More geared towards the car enthusiasts that don’t mod, just buy, pickup, and drive. 630 is nothing to sneeze about.

If I’d had known about this prior to buying my Z I would have been tempted.

Seriously.

FarmerFran, you post great information ( which is often misread and ignored) great advice ( which is often misread and not taken) and great responses to stupid comments (which are always perfect). Thanks !

The first mod that I would make to my LT1 before any power adders would be the tires. 630HP on 245s seems like a bit much!

Ox.
Very true but who doesn’t always get better tire performance then a run flat if your an LT1/SS and if you go to the track it’s every type of Camaro out there. Slap a pair of 305 or 315 would look awesome.

I had the first 2020 on order before the strike and when it was over, I switched to a 1SS with NPP. $56,600 before tax.

I wanted the SS equipment versus LT1 after thinking about it. Tires were one of the reasons. Happy with the stock tires.

Seems there are some hot new tuner cars for sale or being sold in this area lately. There is this example with the SC 630 LT1. I believe the same dealer has a ZL1 Callaway also. Another dealer local had, or still has a Yenko 1000hp SS. Another dealer has a Hennessey 750 hp 1SS.
We are really living in a great time. I love the old muscle cars and grew up around lots of them. But they don’t hold a candle performance and reliability wise. Looks can be subjective though.
But what a great time to be a gearhead
