I did PPF in these sections and they look like new. Also I have the GM bodykit installed which blocks a lot from actually hitting the car. The bodykit was also done in PPF.

It's actually the front 285 tire with the offset that's the culprit.

Mine looks as bad. 22,xxx miles on a white car so it looks dirty . By the time I noticed how big of a problem is it was going to be it was too late to do much about it. I considered doing the clear and all that but already had dings and chips and friend had just spent $3k for a lot of coverage on his new truck. I assumed painting rockers would be cheaper than that.

Not long-term body shop fix , but if you want to just get rid of the dirty look, you can do it with DR COLORCHIP....... Google it…...It's no scam, it works.

Your right ......some of the sweethearts think these cars are powderpuffs. The paint applied isnt seasonal.....it should be way durable then this.

$50 plastic rock guards would've save you some grief....

Zl1parts has some good ones... I've rub my car for 2000 km at high speeds and no chips....

Here is what I did to prevent this from happening to my car: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=490710

Those pictures at the start of this thread are rough to look at :(

add me to the list. parked my car for the winter with 3k miles on it and it looks the same way. The car's 100% stock and i purposely try and avoid any roads with above normal sand on them. For those acting like this is normal id say you're wrong, this paint is not as durable as it should be. I've never had paint chip off this easy on any of my vehicles. If 4 months and 3k miles looks like this then id hate to see it 2 years from now. Taking mine back to the dealer and if they state its normal im having them sign a paper stating that so when i turn it in 2 years from now they dont try and hit me on the paint chipped off the car everywhere.

Also aggravating because the spot the OP showed seems to be the worse and GM clearly realized it was a high impact area and applied a clear film but why the hell did they not go higher than they did is beyond me

Obviously I am a little irritated, and plan to bring to a dealer to discuss. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
Hey man, can you please show picks further away so that we can see areas that are affected?

I posted about this in another thread, but yea, this is what mine looked like after 600 miles:

I contacted Chevy and they basically told me it's not their problem because it isn't a manufacturing defect. Although I consider a defect in that I was driving the car completely normal on paved roads with no snow/salt/sand, just driving to work occasionally. I think it's completely unacceptable, and added on to it is the fact that a few friends have pointed it out to me before I even said anything, and that's embarrassing. The factory PPF is a joke and only covers about 1/3 of the paint, but even still, the PPF seems to scratch just as easily as the paint so it's somewhat useless unless you want to be replacing it every few hundred miles.

I ended up installing some factory "mud guards" which I'm hoping stops any further damage.

I too was dismayed by a couple rock chips on the way to drop my car off at the gentleman that installed my paint protective film (less than 70 miles on the car at the time). He used Dr. Colorchip to fix the stone chips and I had him add film to the rocker panels. Looks great. As of this weekend, I also added the ZL1Addons deluxe rock guards. 300 miles on the car. While I was not fast enough to prevent everything, I am glad I added the protection to help going forward.

It really is pretty pathetic here in AZ how bad the roads are. Mine isn't as bad as yours but it was on its way before I got the splash guards. Crazy.

Good recommendation on the Dr, Colorfhip. Will check that out.

Are people finding that the rock guards are sufficient? Wondering if I should do both the guards and the film...
