Greetings, all.

Crawled under mine today to swap the rear diff fluid. I just broke 1,500 and my 1st AutoX is on Saturday.

I knew our diffs were different than the standard SS, but I thought the fill/drain plugs were in the same place.

As far as I can tell, they are not.

Can someone confirm what I am looking at?

The fill plug is about equal to the halfshaft on the drivers side of the car.

The drain plug is rear facing on the bottom of the diff.

I know we also have a clutch system for the PTM, but I thought that was separate from the diff fluid and was serviced at a different location.

Same here. I have my fluid in the garage and was going to do the fluid swap this weekend.

Broke down and made an appt at the dealer for tomorrow am. I'll talk to the service tech and see what the procedure is. I'll post back when it's done.

I also posted a link to this thread in the 'break in' section. Wonder if the ZL1 guys have the same diff we do.

That's the standard SS diff. The 1LE/ZL1 diff is different.

The AC delco part #listed in the perf supplement is a fluid that has the note "Contains limited slip additive" on the bottle.

I think it was around $10 a bottle It calls for 1.5 quarts.

Amazon has it too search 88862624. I changed mine at 3000 and I'm planning to change it with every tire change (15-20K???) since it'll be in the air with the wheels off.
