fyi check your pressure after pick up from dealer, the dealer set mine to 40 COLD.

Mine were that high too! Why would they do that? Is that the recommended for the SS?

No... it's 32. I think they had them like that to get the car up in the air as much as possible on the truck/train.

I start at 27-28 cold. When mine hit 35-36 on track they grow unhappy and slide. The ideal for me has been a "hot" of 34ish. That is different than the MPSC2s I have run at 36. I don't know a thing, but at 36 I am losing grip with the GYs. Probably a temp issue more than pressure.

I am just a driver - not much of a mechanic or gear head.

First set of G3's lasted 4 track days and 10000 miles. That was before track alignment. Still had grip but not much left. Second set is about 1/2 way gone after USCA event (1 day of autox and 1 day of track & speed stop) and 3000 miles.

Those pressures sure shouldn't cause a problem. Hate it for you but hopefully it was just a bad set of tires or perhaps they were subject to extremely cold temps after being bullt and had small cracks that worsened after this event.
