Those GY Eagle Supercar 3 tires should be awesome at the track, just if we consider that the new 6th. Gen ZL1 and the new SS 1LE were great at the track with them, even the 6th gen ZL1 was able to beat the track dedicated 5th gen Z28 riding on the Trofeo R tires build specially for the track.
I wonder how those 305/30r20 & 285/30r20 would fit and handle on my 5th gen ZL1 that came with GY Eagle Supercar G:2 tires but in 35's.

I used those tires at the track on my prior '11 Mustang GT and competed against a BMW M3 V8, and did not affected my DD MPSS at all, only my brakes boiled at the track, many miles later I sold that car with those same tires and they still had sufficient life on them. They were far superior compared to the Stock Pirellis P Zero.
I could see it, a friend has a new Focus RS and his MPSS made it two track days before they were too blistered too continue. Like many have said they are a great street tire but don't stand up on track.

The Focus RS has the Cup 2s if I'm not mistaken, they wear out much quicker than the MPSSs.

I think the Cup 2's are an option on the RS?

On my 1LE I tried the Super Sports and while they do last longer, The grip on the G2 once they're warmed is crazy. I would never buy Super sports again

The Goodyear F1's is a superior track tire to the MPSS on track because when the MPSS get hot they get slick, the Goodyear's just stick. I would only take the MPSS on a wet track over the Goodyear's.

I think a lot of those will depend on how often a 1LE owner plans on going to the track. Once I can order my 1LE I plan on daily driving it as much as the weather and my training schedule allow. So I hate to destroy a good track tire with street miles. So I may go with the MPSS for daily driving and put the GY3 tires into storage.

These tires look good, but buying new rims to run them is too expensive. Whats the cheapest way to run a 285 square set up? Didn't someone run oem rear rims with a spacer on front? Would that work?

Why do you want to run 285 square?

As another option, Continental is releasing a new version of their DW summer tire in early 2017. It provides a good dry/wet weather compromise. I searched the internet and found that they will be available in stock 1LE and ZL1 sizes.

Gotta keep scratching those lotto tickets for the wheels and tires I really want.
Ahh, gotcha. I thought, for a split second, that you were interested in using a 285 square setup on the 1LE. My bad.

I bought a second set of the polished ZL1 wheels from a fellow forum member on the cheap for my street/DD setup which has the MPSS tires.
