Hertz Rent-a-ZL1 750 HP

I would say this would be a fun rental car. Chevy will be right behind it with 750+ HP ZL1

Definitely would make for a fun weekend rental. Borrow some parts off of it if needed. Tires too lol.

I have to wonder how this modified version of the ZL1 is approved for CA considering it says it’s at LAX

This is great marketing for Hertz and Chevy. I rented a Hertz special edition Z06 last year. It is the genesis of what led me to buy a ZL1 1LE in 2019. It was the first fun/fast car I had ever driven and led me down the path of power/track/fun.

The upgraded power comes from a bigger blower so I doubt the emissions will get that goofy even in CA.

Doesn’t matter... there are absolutely no CARB approved modifications for the ZL1. Not even CAI are allowed through CARB.

The Car and Driver article does a better job outlining the locations for rentals. Here's a link:
https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...k-motorsports/

That said, I know that Callaways in the past have been 50 State compliant, so would expect these to be no different.

The SS-based Camaro will be available in 15 cities: Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Either way, the chance to rent one of these 224 Hendrick creations is nigh: they'll be available for a short time starting in October.

They might get around CARB by not registering them here. Some counties here don't even smog from what I've heard. I couldn't tell you where they were, but know there are/were some.

Hmmm....

32 miles round trip from Phoenix airport to the nearest road race track... Could get in ~20 laps before the extra mileage fee kicks in...

I thought the same thing when I moved to SF a year and half ago. After seeing some the worst traffic ever at all hours of day and night I get why... but like any government anything it sucks and a waste of money.

Unhappy

This is great of course, but...

With Sixt Rental Car, in Frankfurt for example, you can reserve a BMW M4 Cabrio or a BMW i8 for about $215/day anytime. Now THAT’S a car lovers’ rental car company.
