Back seat windscreen

Saw an ad popup a couple weeks ago for one of those wind screens that goes behind the front seats and is supposed to reduce wind buffeting for front pax. Didn't click on it and haven't seen it come back up. Curious on thoughts, experiences, how they install, rec's for them. Go!....

My wife suprised me with one on my birthday. I don't know if I would have spent the 3 or 4 hundred myself, but it absolutely works. With the screen up and windows up you can actually converse without raising your voice on the highway, and my wife doesn't complain about her hair blowing in her face.

If these things were mass produced in China they would probably sell for less than 50 bucks at Walmart, but we're stuck with the high price if you want one. The GM one folds down and then in half for easy storage in its pouch. It can store behind the trunk divider with the top down. It also installs easily right in the loops and pin sockets available in the back seat area, no adhesive mounts necessary. The other thing I like is the ability to reach behind me with my right hand and raise or lower the screen while driving There are aftermarket ones available, but I'm not sure they have those features.

I have an aftermarket wind deflector in my 2017 Vert. It folds down in half and can be removed and folded into quarters in about 30 seconds (I just leave mine installed). It works GREAT at highway speeds especially with the windows up. Another benefit is anything on the back seat like a jacket or hat won't blow around with this in place. No, they are not worth the $300+ but it makes my wife happy that her hair isn't blowing around on road trips. Happy wife, happy life. As far as the install goes, there are two "clips" that go into a recess behind the rear seat back and two spring loaded pins that fit into holes behind the front seats. It's really less than a minute to install. You can leave it up or fold it down with the top up or down. Do a google search for "wind deflectors". Amazon, Ebay and several other retailers sell them.

Thanks guys! Found the GM one on shopchevyparts.com and will probably order it soon. NO mods required is a big sell for me, don't want to drill or cut any holes in my baby, and I like that it's designed by GM specifically for the Camaro. Worth the $400 to keep my wife happy!

I went with the one from wind restrictors. It's the engraved led light up one. It does the job just fine and I like the ambiance with the top up aswell. The camaro6 symbol is right in the middle and does get in the way of the rearview mirror, but I got used to it. It does come off with 4 wingnuts. Just can't store it in the trunk is all, but I do like it!

This is the non-folding version that I got on Ebay. We like it a lot and leave it in all the time since we only use the back seat for misc. stuff. It keeps things from blowing around or out too. Folds easily but can remain up with top up or down.

Long story but I actually have a second one that is still new in the box if anyone is interested.

Wind screan

Do you notice a big difference in air flow and noise. I have been thinking about this for our rag top for the wife

Yes. She doesn't have to put her hair in a ponytail anymore to keep it from blowing around and in her face, getting tangled up. I have shaved head so no worries there. However, I do wear hearing aids and it stops the wing noise. This one folds twice and fits in a little pouch for the trunk, so if you pick up a passenger you can pull it down. Also, it stays up (as you see it) when putting top up or down.

Good point about unexpected back seat passengers. A lot of people completely dismiss the back seats as useless, but when I've needed to use them they are fine in a pinch. I'm not sure the non-folding versions fit in the trunk and leave the top operational because of the divider

And sold.

While others hit "watch", I hit "buy".

Thank you, Mr Bulldog.
