Whats the best way to clean exhaust tips? Something that will clean them but wont scratch them up.

I just used a micro fiber cloth with some chrome polish. But seriously, why bother? They'll be dirty in 5 mins. I gave up and went with black tips. And that solved that issue.

I use barkeepers friend powder. My V6 got black one to two days after cleaning, but my SS are staying clean? I do a couple good pulls every time I drive it to hear that engine and exhaust. Always in sport or track for exhaust. Does the lack of soot indicate anything?

Toilet brush and warm soapy water, don't laugh until you try it, works great

E85 helps but the Barkeepers Friend is a good suggestion, wifey uses that on our white cast iron sink and it eradicates all sins

When I bought my certified pre-owned 2016, it looked like the exhaust tips had never been cleaned. I took some Nevr-Dull wadding to them and that did the trick -- cleaned them up and took off all the stubborn deposits that had built up. Since then, with regular washes, I just use a damp microfiber cloth. Although I had figured I might need to hit them with the Nevr-Dull every so often, I haven't had to go back to that since the initial cleanup in late 2017.

I use WD-40. I started using it when I put a Magnaflow stainless cat back exhaust on my truck some years back.

Just paint the inside of the tips and no more cleaning and always having the outside tips look dirty compared to the inside tips. I have not cleaned the inside of the exhaust tips since I painted them over 4 years ago.

They still look like you see in the photos in this thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=471821

Low pile MF rag and car wash soap & water. Mothers Powerball when I need to do a polish.
