Dark Finish Tail Lights Hyperblink?
Hey everyone,
I just installed my Dark Finish Tail Lights on my Camaro and everything appeared to be working fine, except when I pulled out of my driveway and used the turn signal. After the third blink it will start hyperblinking. I was thinking these things are plug-n-play, but do they require load resistors? Or is a wire possibly loose? I couldn't finding anything when searching so I'm not sure if I'm the first one with this issue. I have a non-RS so maybe something is different. Thanks in advance! |

Hi!,
yes, you need a resistor harness because you're switching from non-LED bulbs to LED tail lights (the dark lights are full LED making exception for the reverse backup light). I think you will solve your problem simply by using this harness: http://www.gen5diy.com/Chevrolet/Cam...ight-Harness6/ See you!!, Eos |

This is a review of Gen5DIY.com harness from a guy that had the same problem:
Jason on 01/03/2017 I drive a stock I-4 1LT non-rs package and also have the smoked tail lights from GM. I did not know that the smoked tail lights from GM were considered RS tail lights and thus caused my cars turn signal to have the hyper flash. I ordered the Non RS - RS Tail light Harness and LED bulbs, which was perfect because I needed two sets of resistors on each harness. The hyper flash is gone and the LED reverse tail light bulbs work great! The installation is very easy and can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour depending on if you know what your doing. The installation guide explains everything you need to do. Make sure to test before putting everything back on, ff the LED bulbs do not turn on once installed, just turn them around. See you!!, Eos |

EOS,
Thank you so much! Good to hear that I didn't mess up the install :P I might end up splicing with DD's kit: https://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...stor-kit-18974 |

The resistor harness is not needed for SS models?

I wouldn't expect so since SS and RS both come with LED tail lamps already I believe.

You're pretty much paying for the convenience/added materials needed for the kit. I think the one from Phastek is cheaper but not in stock. I'm pretty comfortable with tapping and I suck at soldering so it's a better option for me.

Hi Richard0nee!,
No, it isn't as the SS and RS models both come with LEDs, so swapping the red OEM tail lights to the dark version is plug & play with no need for resistors and/or resistors. ThePandaSmuggler's car needed one as it didn't come with LED tail lights (he owns a non-RS/non-SS car).. so his turn lights were common bulbs. See you!!, Eos |

Hi SR33!,

I guess each version has a specific setting in the main car computer, just like on VW Group cars. The chase is: how do we access to them and change them? I'm not aware of any OBD port software that can do this on our 6th Generation Camaro.. See you!!, Eos |
