It's not how fast the car is...it's how fast the driver is willing to push that makes the difference.

Based on those speeds, on a road in my experience that is posted at 35 mph, a Hyundai owned me thru a school zone yesterday.

No car can goes balls out on the BRP so this is really more of a test of driver courage. Last year in our bolt on e92 m3 we had a very modded out X3 in front of us on the Dragon and I simply couldn't keep up with him. Not because the car wouldn't do it but because I didn't have the nerve. It was amazing to see, but I highly doubt the x3 was really more capable than an m3 on coilovers even though that's what it seemed like.

Corvette weighs a lot less and handles better. My 04 C5 with tunnel brace, Z06 shocks and sways handled better than my SS but I guess being a Vert hurts my SS.

Ahh, that explains a lot as well. Familiarity can be a major factor, regardless of the vehicles involved.

Hit me up when you do. We go once a month or so. There are so many good roads in the area besides the dragon, I'd be glad to put you on some lesser known ones that aren't clogged with slow moving harleys and those dumb mini-bikes that are everywhere up there now.

Looks like you were in the Pisgah Forest area maybe? Some excellent roads right around the pkwy in that area.

Just saw you're in Columbia too. Crazy. If you ever see a blacked out 50th with side and rear cf louvers it's probably me.
