Mamo TB from M6 LT1 work on ZL1 A10?

Like the subject says. Can a Mamo ported Throttle body for a SS 1LE LT1 with an M6 trans, work on a ZL1 with a A10 trans?

If they were both M6 this wouldn't be a question. But I read something today that suggested the throttle bodies are not interchangeable when the transmissions are different?

Is this true?

Same throttle body regardless of the transmission

Tony ports the LT1 TB differently than the LT4 TB.

FI induction vs. NA induction are a crazy different animal. The science of smoothing intake airflow is significantly contrasted between NA and FI. The internal differences between the LT1 and LT4 are pronounced.

With that said, LT1 to LT1 porting shouldn't matter. With LT1 to LT4 you will likely lose quite a bit of aggressive porting and ultimately (smoothed) intake volume and HP potential.

As Stephen mentioned, gearing makes no difference.

If you're looking for a ported ZL1 TB then I have one I'm selling. It is from my 17 ZL1 with A10 trans. It isn't a Mamo, it is a KaTech. Let me know.

I am aware that the Mamo TB are currently ported differently for LT1s and LT4s. However, I believe initially Tony Mamo ported the TB for both the LT! and LT4 engines the same.

I originally had an SS 1LE for which I purchased a Mamo TB. I took it off when I sold the car. Now I have a LT1 Mamo TB sitting in my garage with a Stock ZL1. In another thread that was discussing the LT4 throttle body, I asked Tony directly if his ported throttle body intended for an LT1 would work on a LT4. I just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any problems. His response was actually what I expected. Yes the LT1 throttle body would work an a LT4 just fine. It just wouldn't flow as well as his LT4 throttle body. He also confirmed that his LT4 TB would not work well on an LT1. The porting is just too aggressive.

So, I figure since I have an Mamo throttle body ported for an LT1 already paid for. The performance difference would not justify the expense of a new Mamo LT4 ported throttle body.

My basic question was, can throttle bodies be interchanged between M6 and A10 cars. At the time I made the post, I was at a computer in which I could not do a search to answer the question in a timely matter. So I asked the question here, knowing someone would know the answer outright. Yep, the OEM TB for the LT1 and LT4 are the same part regardless of transmission.

Thanks for the information and the feedback. It looks like I am good to go.
