I doubt anyone drives their car harder than I do, day in, day out. Regarding the SC3R, I found it unsafe on the street unless on a 80-90F sunny day and 30 min of warmup driving, which pretty much what it's specs say.
On the other hand, the 4S is Tire rack's highest rated ultra performance tire for dry and wet driving, but after adding 200 hp, there's no way to "launch" or anything close to it. I can avoid spin tire by going to WOT in manual in 3rd gear at 2500 rpm. I'm trying various speeds/rpm to avoid tire spin in 2nd gear. WOT in 1st is out of the question. In summary, I have greatly reduced tire spin by driving in manual and avoiding downshifts when I want to let it eat.

You should ask for yourself but manuf warranties are halved in a staggered setup due to lack of ability to rotate.

I'm in Phoenix and my zl1 is just a "fun" car. No where near a daily let alone will see rain/snow. Ive been going back and forth on tires and decided ill prob stay with the sc3's vs ps4s. The Michelins definitely get better mileage out of them, but for our summers I feel the sc3s would be better.... they will just need change ged out quicker (prob ever 2-3 years for me as I dont plan on putting more than 4k miles a year on it). |

Don't overlook another tire, the Conti ExtremeContact Sport. I put a set on my 1LE and really like them.

I was talking about the regular SC3's in my post. Are you in the ZL1 1LE?

Aragorn,
I see you are also in PHX. Last week I removed a set of low mileage MPS4s off my 1LE. They are a great tire, but not even close to the SC3 for AutoX use. Let me know if you might be interested in a purchase (or trade if your SC3's have much life left?). I was planning to hold on to them in case I end up getting a dedicated wheel/tire set for track, but a local sale is compelling. Half day on the road course and the fresh SC3's already have noticeable wear.....but well worth it

I only had around -2.0 front and the wear on the road course was actually pretty even; didn't roll onto the wingfeet. Planning to max it out for AutoX though.

Ah, I missed that.
They do make the regular SC3 tires in ZLE sizes too, that is a good middle ground between the SC3 R's and the PS4's

I think plates are a good idea, a local CAM-C guy runs 3.2f 2.5r, he's a GM master tech and nat'l champ driver. I'll get plates but not sure I can go more than 1.5r w/o toe links, we'll see... Also, I'm running 2.3/1.5 and need more camber for even wear both front and rear, even with a lot of road driving... but a lot of that driving is on curvy mt roads.
