Exactly, excellent advice! No WOT, no over 4k, and no cruise control. First oil change comes early. I caught myself doing CC for a mile than stopped when I realized what I was doing lol.
Trust me guys I want to WOT but I MUST RESIST THE TEMPTATION |

You have a real beauty there. Welcome, be safe and enjoy all the car has to offer which is a lot. I considered my 2014 pretty much broken in at 500 miles and now I have 594 miles.

There needs to be an AA style group for those breaking in a new car... NPP opens up too late and 4k comes too soon. Break-in sponsors might help the process. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks a ton guys. I'm sure you all heard of that dust storm in Phoenix the other night, so right now she's resting :( but I'm planning on keeping this car as a DD for a very, very, very long time! So i want to do everything I can to extend it's longevity the best I can! Can't wait to get it on the road again!

break-in is to seat rings, etc
The kewl "Drive 'er HARD!" philosophy, seen here a whole bunch, is not something I ascribe to at all. While it is not a thing that qualifies me as a master mechanic, I have built my own V8 from the block up, for use in a daily driver. "Drive 'er HARD!" ignores the basics: you want to vary rpm during break-in. The "drive 'er HARD!" instructions say "beating on the car makes it better for some reason, as you force the engine's internals to seat and seal" but without addressing that key issue. Vary your rpm for 1500 miles. Do not set cruise control and drive yet. The "drive 're HARD!" school-folks may imply varying your rpm, but the way they make their case, it's beating on the damned thing that matters. I disagree a whole lot. My feeling is anything that raises the chance of say, piston slap, is something I will avoid. My LS3 runs at least as well as any stock LS3 that was broken in "hard", and so does my 455 block 462 engine that had careful break-in too. It speaks more to modern engines than anything else in my opinion, that you can break these things in "hard". But no matter what you do- vary your rpm during break-in.
