Out of curiosity, why are you stating that Powerstop’s Track Day pads are “not a true track pad?” Do you have any data to support your claim?

I'd say it's more the lack of data/information on Powerstop's side. There's not much besides marketing on this page: https://v2.powerstop.com/product/pow...ay-brake-pads/

Well known manufacturers of race/track pads will have dyno graphs showing the characteristics of the pad (friction coefficient across a range of temps). Examples like Ferodo and Pagid. There's a reason for the huge price disparity between Powerstop pads vs. the competition.

That being said - everyone has their own preference for brake performance/cost and you should do what works for you. Took me a few years of trial and error to figure out what I was looking for from a pad on the track.

As I am looking to move on from the OEM pads, I was really hoping there was data out there because you’re right, PowerStop doesn’t offer up any data.

I'm extremely happy with my Ferodo DS1.11 pads

Dedicated track pads by nature will generate more heat though, so that means accelerated wear on rotors/calipers/seals. I'm also running a brake duct kit.

I am not usually a hawk fan, but lack of available of options for a zl1 has me try them and I’m actually really surprised. Dtc70 front/60 rear

On the ss1le, you can also get raybestos st43/47’s which they don’t have for the zl1 and I really like those compounds

Bump.

OP did you end up flipping your pads?

I was going to do this on my 1LE as a preventative measure as I'll be bleeding the brakes in the next week or so.

I use the same set up as Yanbangs and am very happy with it. Sad thing is it looks like the brake duct kit is no longer available.

Yeah, unfortunately it doesn't seem like it's available any longer. It was made by a shop called 'Garage Therapy'. Maybe you could reach out to them and see if there's any way to get your hands on one

Did you just swap inside pad to outside pad and vice versa? Or did you swap outside left to outside right and vice versa?

No abnormal brake behavior or wear after?
