Header Choices
I am planning on buying headers for my 2010 Camaro ss I am on a buget though so my current choices are OBX , texas speed or speed engineering. Right now im leaning towards OBX but the main thing im worried about with all 3 is clearance issues and problems during the install. So if you guys could just let me know what you think and if any of you have any of them installed on your cars let me know how you like them and how was the install.
Thank you |

I'd make sure you check out Stainless Power too. They are a solid budget stainless steel header

Budget buys are not always the most economical choice. Why are you installing headers? What gains are you looking for? What are your goals for a finished build?

I look at it this way. If you are prepared to make the move, be ready to do it right. By that, I mean......if you are getting headers..make sure you are ready and willing to tune.
Quality headers can be bought on the cheap........just shop around and do some homework. Stainless Power, OBX and TSP are some proven winners in the budget category. And if you search this forum, you will see that some of our popular budget headers actually fit better than the expensive ones.

I don't consider a $600 pair of SP headers "budget friendly" when Speed Engineering headers are half the price, are built as good, and fit just as well. I don't care for OBX myself, because I had hell with them on my 2012 Silverado. If you have the cash to blow, by all men's get the SP or other high dollar headers. Just know that Speed Engineering are the cheapest and best fitting, well built header for the money out there. If you're concerned with making the absolute higher power out there, spend the coin to get ARH or Kooks. You have to determine if 3-5hp is worth the extra cost.

Yes, I concur this. However, for half the price, you can get the headers from Speed Engineering and have money left for a tuner. That's the smart thing to do really. ARH, LG Motorsports and Kooks are definitely some of the "elite" brand of headers for sure.

I went thru this same decision when I was looking and there are plenty of choices. I finally went with Stainless Power being the middle road. The fit is perfect and from what I have read the performance is on par with other more expensive headers. By the way, you can hardly see the headers looking under the hood.

I went with OBX myself. Have had them on two cars already without any problems. I got 1 7/8s headers. If I had to do it over again on a budget I would get Texas Speed 2" headers not that OBX is bad but because 2" is superior on a stock car or modified. If money was no problem I would get ARH 2" headers. Best in the business.
