Look what we won on Sunday!

Local car show about a mile from my house this past Sunday.
Spent some quality time with my 16yr old boy during the week and on Sunday.
Spent about 30 hours on the paint including 2 coats of CQUK 3.0 and 2 coats of Gliss. He was sweating all week long, LOL.
I made him go up and accept the trophy. 113 cars in the show. We got best car 2000 or later. not bad for a weeks work...

Congratulations on raising such a son, I'm pretty sure he worked his butt off to make the car perfect. Having him receive the trophy was a classy move, too.

The engine bay looks immaculate, maybe you could spice it up even more with the famous specs plaque on the fuse box

Yes, it's a class in most car shows, with the starting year varying anywhere from 1994 to 2015 (from what I've seen).

I've won two 2nd place trophies in the 3 times I've shown my bone-stock '17 1SS. I just do a really good job of detailing the car, and try to keep it clean in between detailings. Which isn't easy as my wife daily drives it, weather permitting.
Not sure what it is about the Hyper Blue, even now 3+ years after it came out on the Gen 6, people just love it. Had lots of compliments on it.

I have no use for snobs who think newer, stock cars shouldn't be in shows. Shows are for looking at cool cars. A car is as cool as you think it is, not someone else's standard. People can see cool stock cars that they otherwise might not see elsewhere. <rant off>

Yeah reminds me lot of a hot wheels looking blue ..Cool that his son appreciates the car...hope at least let him drive it home from the victory? Any new car can be bought and polished..but a true car show winner is a vechle thats been restored or customized and built the car better than it ever was brand new. being that the car show is only a mile from his house he probably knew somebody .

Looks like you did a great job detailing it..what will be impressive is to see your car 20 years from now looking as good as it does now that really deserves an award!

Congrats to you and your son! Detailing and coating is definitely a labor of love and sweat. Show him what people normally charge for those coatings and he can have a nice summer business.

30 hours? That is insane. I complain about washing it for 30 minutes.

Congrats and good job.

Want to clean mine too?
