Factory alignment numbers inside how bad is it?

Some of you may already know, I don't like the way the car feels on highspeed hits. regular driving it seems to need constant steering wheel correction. Seems to hydroplane in the rain too easy. My old 17 Zl1 did not have the above issues. I have an appointment at the dealer next week to fix the alignment. I took the car to an alignment shop today to record some numbers so I can show the dealer. numbers look bad, LOL. Any alignment gurus have an opinion? How bad is it? brand new car!!!

Curious why the shop that set it up on the alignment rack didn't make any adjustments?

+1.

what kind of numbers did the shop get you? Hope you have a good dealership. I don't trust them with my car one bit.

My parking brake has given me problems on two occasions and I'm having a hard time getting myself to bring the car to the dealer and letting them touch it.

I'm no guru but it is not uncommon at all for a brand new car to have a poor alignment. Looking at your spec sheet fixing the toe is going to make a noticeable difference during street driving, especially if the roads are not perfect. If you do not track the car just shoot for to the specs you have outlined on the attached GM spec sheet. If you do track the car go more aggressive and shoot for the track alignment called out.

FYI, the first time I took my car to the track it had the as delivered specs. About 4-5 laps in once the tires were warmed up I started to push the car and was disappointed with how the car felt. I got back to the pits and could tell from the short 20 min session that my tire wear was not looking good pointing to a poor alignment. I got the track alignment with no other changes, hit the track again a few week later and it felt like it was a completely different car, I was very impressed with the cars stability after the alignment was fixed.

Make sure the dealer takes their time when doing the alignment and gets the specs as close as they can, my local dealer cannot do that for some reason. Luckily I found a shop that will take their time and get them spot on.

Because I want the dealer to do it next week under warranty.

Reason I wanted to get the independent numbers is because I didn't want the dealer to give me the run around and saying the car feels OK so no reason to put it on the rack.

So alignment is under warranty? Were you able to confirm that?

Factory alignment is warrantied up to 7,500 miles - that's straight from the dealer that I paid $400+ to align mine at 8,700 miles....

I took my 18 Z to the dealership twice for suspected poor alignment, snd they said alignment was "spot on"!
I finally broke down and took it to the best shop around...my buddy just laughed...the front and rear were waaay off from factory specs, and since I don't track the car we went with a Street alignment...the car has a true contact patch, handles beautifully, and has no extreme tire wear.

Did correcting the alignment fix the driving issues you mentioned in the first post?

Too many cars on the road on the way home to test. I'll advise in a day or 2!
