2020 Camaro SS no sound tube??

Picked up a new 2SS 1LE last week and I just popped the hood and realized there's no sound tube? Is this new for 2020? I'm not complaining but am I missing something? I'm glad I looked before ordering the Roto-Fab CAI.

Somebody else posted a picture of their 2020 SS and I noticed the same thing. But, I just figured they already removed it. I know the 2019 have the sound tube, but it appears the 2020’s come without?

Interesting.

Just for comparison sake, my 2020 V6 still has a sound tube so it must be a V8 thing. The sound tube on the V6 comes off the bottom of the intake not the top.

My 2020 1SS has the sound tube. I will be looking to get rid of it at some time.

This might be a dumb question but what does this sound tube do?
Are they also equipped on the ZL1?
I should look at my own car when I am home.

2SS thing? After a certain manufacture date?

Maybe there should be a 2020 SS sound tube or sound no tube poll?

So you can hear the engine better in the cabin. The ZL1 doesn't have one.

My 2020 2SS does not have the sound tube. It was manufactured 08/19.

It allows some intake noise to transfer to the cabin, mostly noticeable at high throttle openings. I plugged my 2019.

I would assume it's a 1SS VS 2SS change. At least I can look at the option of getting it plugged. Always prefer a factory part for something as simple as this.

This setup works good for me. And a good price.

Yeah, someone needs to dig up the part number for the factory intake plug. I removed the sound tube off my 2019 2SS and have it plugged but I'd rather use the factory part on the intake.

The OEM firewall plug is part number: 23342796
