Thanks for the feedback, folks.

All LT4's come with Ti on the intake side so figured durable enough for Chevy - good enough for us especially since valve float might have been limiting our topspeed/engine rpm.

We'll probably go with new OEM exhaust to keep it simple.

Been waiting on Chevy parts store to get the OEM exhaust valves in stock to no avail. Noticed on Katech's website they had them and two weeks later - arrival! Surprised, but possibly I shouldn't be...

So does the lt1 have inconel exhaust valves stock? I’m guessing lt4 does for sure

I think the LT1 and LT4 both have plain exhaust valves, I think for FI and E85 Manley stainless steel, or Manley Inconel would be my two choices. I've run Manley since dunno the 70s?? I like their slight undercut head design for flow and they are straight and true out of the box, not many other brands of "performance" valves. I've seen many destroyed OEM valves, so IMO they are not "good enough", when you are talking about doubling the OEM HP levels and toss in some high lift cam / high ramp speed.. Sorry I would only go Manley, like their boost line con rods too.... um. sweet.

Neither engine has Inconel exhaust valves from the factory.

The L8T did come with an inconel exhaust valve which is a direct replacement (a few gram heavier though) for the LT1/LT4 exhaust valve.

To close this thread out a bit - the valves I purchased from Katech were actually high heat inconel vice OEM replacements. They are ~15 grams heavier than the OEM's. But with the PSI 1516's, should be no issue on control according to Katech.

It is running fine so far...although still break in period. ;-)

I really enjoyed your write up Tim. I may have to get some suggestions when I start my next engine project, but my new farm in Hawaii is taking all my time and money.
