You seem like a die hard manual guy. Almost everyone that is answering you on here is saying the a10 the best thing since sliced bread and you keep talikn. Just get the manual and let us know how it goes

It, being the joy manual enthusiasts experience when driving a sweet manual sports or muscle car.
I've only had my 6spd for about 5 weeks now, but couldn't be happier with it. I too considered the A10 due to all the hype on it. But I know now after owning the 6spd manual, that it's the only way I would truly be happy with the car.
Also note that I have never experienced any bog issue either. Though since my car is pretty new I've never done any super hard launches. But again a ZL1 1LE was never designer to be a drag car to begin with, so I'm not concerned with that possible "flaw" anyways.

I'm doing research.

But I agree, I just may not be happy with an automatic in a performance car.

Just this past weekend I ordered a new 2020 ZL1. It will come with a 6 speed. I'm a die hard stick guy in a sports car. The auto can be faster but there is nothing like a stick.

There is a different feel being mechanically locked into a gear vs hydraulically (convertor) locked in. You feel more connected as it is more connected, There is no buffer.

Every car I look at the tranny is the first thing I look for. My heart sinks a little if I see its a auto.

I have also read about the bog, didn't stop me. My 2012 zl1 would do the same thing if you used launch control on new pavement.

Speaking for myself, I bought the Tr6060. I had the Z06 with the A8 and the thing was boring to drive. Paddle shift? Yeah if you have time to wait. If you leave it in auto it will up shift quick. With the paddles, it took it's sweet time. I've had turbo 350's chirp the tires when you shift. Not an A8 or A10. Manual will shift as quick as you can shift it. Hit the clutch, rev the engine. Hit the clutch, pick your gear. Hit the clutch and don't worry about a stall convertor to avoid the engine shutting down if you have a cam. Automatic, boring. M6, drivers car.

Its true, I have a few friends with Teslas that try to tell me how much fun the car is do drive, going fast I guess is fun but its just not the same. At least to me. Something about banging gears and driving. Im sure with age Ill have to adjust but while I can I will.

Then clamor from Porsches customers made them bring back the manual for some of their GT cars. I don't see Ferrari or Lambo doing it except for maybe a limited one off thing by Ferrari. Both seem hell bent on repeatable numbers and leaving driver involvement behind (especially Lambo IMO).

I will be 50 soon, still prefer to row my own in my toys. Even managed to beat an A10 ZLI 2 out of 3 times at aEnnis track day.

I went with a 6 speed personally. Works well for me and while I can’t shift as fast as the 10spd, but with no lift shift I do enough to make me enjoy it. Car is plenty quick stock and I was slightly worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up with it, but the gears in the 6spd are pretty long.

Get what you want. Who cares if the 10spd is faster if you want a manual and can drive it’s worth it. If you just want the car to do all the work for you, get the auto, or a GTR or a Tesla.
