Check out those forums, there is a huge group that would like to have manuals back in those car groups.

Just this past weekend I ordered a new 2020 ZL1. It will come with a 6 speed. I'm a die hard stick guy in a sports car. The auto can be faster but there is nothing like a stick.
There is a different feel being mechanically locked into a gear vs hydraulically (convertor) locked in. You feel more connected as it is more connected, There is no buffer. Every car I look at the tranny is the first thing I look for. My heart sinks a little if I see its a auto. I have also read about the bog, didn't stop me. My 2012 zl1 would do the same thing if you used launch control on new pavement. |

Speaking for myself, I bought the Tr6060. I had the Z06 with the A8 and the thing was boring to drive. Paddle shift? Yeah if you have time to wait. If you leave it in auto it will up shift quick. With the paddles, it took it's sweet time. I've had turbo 350's chirp the tires when you shift. Not an A8 or A10. Manual will shift as quick as you can shift it. Hit the clutch, rev the engine. Hit the clutch, pick your gear. Hit the clutch and don't worry about a stall convertor to avoid the engine shutting down if you have a cam. Automatic, boring. M6, drivers car.

I went with a 6 speed personally. Works well for me and while I can’t shift as fast as the 10spd, but with no lift shift I do enough to make me enjoy it. Car is plenty quick stock and I was slightly worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up with it, but the gears in the 6spd are pretty long.
Get what you want. Who cares if the 10spd is faster if you want a manual and can drive it’s worth it. If you just want the car to do all the work for you, get the auto, or a GTR or a Tesla. |
