End of the Line for Camaro ZL1 LT4 Engine Production

MOTORTREND: As the sixth-gen slips into oblivion, the very last supercharged LT4 Camaro engine was built at GM.

Certainly an engine for the history books! It will always remain my favorite engine of all time.

It’s ok, the car is done as well, but the engine lives on in the Blackwing and apparently an SUV with even more power. Go figure a lard bucket gets the most powerful variant, go GM!

Yeah the Ls7s were on sale at the very end too. What a deal. Titanium rods.

My new Tahoe has a 6.2L. Not sure how close it is to the LT1.

Should be the same exact thing minus the intake and exhaust manifolds.

That's what I'm thinking. It takes a different oil filter, but it may just be the oiling systems are the same and they are taking advantage of the greater ground clearance with a longer filter. I would have guessed the heads, pistons, cam, and a few other components are different, but I have no idea.

I would venture a guess that the article was referring to the last LT4 that went into a production Camaro.

Wouldn't they continue to build LT4's at least in limited quantity to insure they had replacement LT4's for warranty purposes, and also, perhaps they'll offer it as a crate engine ??

They already do offer it as a crate engine.

You really feel the walls closing in when you read this kind of news. Apparently now the FedGov will require all 2026's and beyond to have AI decide if you can drive your own car.
