Heads up display

Guys got a question about the heads up display in an 1le M6.
I test drove both an M6 and A10 tonight and noticed that in the A10, which I drove second had shift lights when in manual mode. I drove the M6 first and they had the HUD dimmed out so I did not see any lights. Does it have the shift lights?

yes it does depending on which HUD display you have selected

There are lights at the top of the HUD that go from green to yellow to red from the outside in.

And they are temperature sensitive. Meaning: when the engine is cold, you will go from green to red pretty quick. As the engine warms up. the RPM triggers for the different color lights in the hud move up.

It is pretty cool.

Really, seems like there would be a way to unlock it if you had a way into the computer. I know there was after market website that so computer gurus put together that gave you inside access to all the config settings on all the different computers, have not seen that for chevy yet, but maybe it exists.

I love the shift lights on my M6 ZLE. Really gets your attention at 150mph on the track.

Is the Manual the only one that has all the goodies in the Hud. I have the Auto in my 2019 Zl1 and it has nothing like that..

Did you try in manual shift mode, either via paddles or the shifter?

Yeah, there is one, White Automotive and Media, and I've exchanged a few emails with them already. The problem is all these changes by a third party are probably hideously expensive for what they are, whereas it would be an absolutely zero effort, goodwill move for GM.

Wait is that true? I have never noticed that it hits red earlier when the engine is cold.

My 2017 auto Z does this, but like mentioned, you must be in manual mode. I wouldn't think they would remove it from the 2019.

Toggle the HUD switch, you can place it in performance view. There are two different view styles. I have a 2019 and nothing has changed.
