My Journey 10,000 miles
My Journey started out to say the least rough , upon purchase there was immediate problems with the paint on my car the dealership gave me a we owe to buff the out the issues, after a few weeks the driver seat stopped reclining and that same day I noticed paint coverage was very poor . Took it to the dealership for issues and they never buffed out the car and didn't address the paint issues at all , fixed the seat. After alot of contact with chevrolet I finally in march had a meeting with District manager about paint issues he accepted the fact the paint was a issue April went have a estimate done for paint and they want to take away my factory warranty with a back yard paint shOP that wants to use a paint brush to "feather " in the edges . Meanwhile the transmission (A8) is shifting funny and has a vibration , go to a different dealer they were Awesome was the 4×s between many and June to get transmission replaced. They offered to look at the paint went to their shop estimate done over 10k to fix and complete repaint. GM District manager says they are not paying for that expensive of a paint repair. Transmission (2nd) starts shifting funny, , see you in court lemon law

Damn! Sorry to hear this happening. And at 10,000 you've had the trans replaced twice!?!? I'd be pissed to high hell. Still would like to have one, but I can all the issues some owners are having. Kind of glad I missed the chance to get a 2016. The first years bugs are living up to it. Hopefully, 2017 and 2018 are much better builds.

OP be persistent and polite. But do not give up. Been there done this with my ZL1. In the end GM took care of me and I was happy with the result. But it took 4 months and 30 emails/PMs. I suppose patience is part of this too.
I think Camaro GM trannys are as good as anyone elses.

My 2017 2SS 8-speed is fantastic. My paint coverage is good, but there were acid rain marks noticed by my detailer before he applied Opticoat.

Well to be honest I thought my A8 was Awesome, but for some reason it keep getting the bad ones no doubt that ALL manufacturers have issues , this has been a nightmare from day one and I just want it over . Doesn't seem like they really care that much. IT'S TOO Bad because I really do like the car , But facts are facts

Thanks Dave , it's boiled down to corporate not wanting to make the right decision and take care of a bad build . I'm not sure why it happened to my car but I am happy for all of the people that did get A awesome car and what they paid for . I guess I got the rotten apple in the bushel but i also know that I have rights and Im going to use them . Ive been very patient the 2nd dealer I've been going to had been Great!. But this is a job for a Lawyer because I'm just not getting anywhere , My case has been accepted by a Lemon law attorney So at this point I have no other path to travel. Not to be a Drama But this has been very exhausting while trying to maintain a 50-60 hr work week and being a single dad with a son that just graduated ect ect ect . I was just Very hopeful that someone one Do the right thing without pulling teeth to get it but as I've learned in life if you want something work hard |
