Mine started doing the same exact thing now, it's always been a tad pit of wack from a cold start going to 1st to 2md, but I thought nothing major of it, but leaving work yesterday it's slipped hard and through me right into 2nd with a bang. Twice! I couldn't get it to do it when driving on the street though, is it just a issue when cold?

I've had the same thing happen also. Only a few times though and mostly from a cold start. It also sometimes lags when shifting from 1st to 2nd. It goes out of first then feels like it's in neutral for a half a second then goes into 2nd. I might take mine in to see if they can reprogram it or if it's something more.

Yup that's it! I'm going to take it in tomrrow, my only worry that is they won't be able to replicate it, and tell me it's fine when it's not.. Hopefully it is a programming issue and that's it, that's what it seems like.

Mine does the same thing but I can only replicate it when it's a cold start.

Wow they do exist. Comment and show concern on a transmission issue but no comment or concern on the fogging issue that's in the same thread. Ummm.

That's likely because there is nothing that can be done about the windshield fogging issue, short of redesigning parts of the A/C system.

But the only fix for the only documented transmission issue so far is "replace entire transmission and torque converter". You know how much that costs, right? Pulling the dash module to replace poorly designed plastic vents and butterfly valves would be about 1/10th that cost -- 1/5th the cost if they need to replace the actuators and reprogram the HVAC controller.

I can seem to replicate it sometimes by going forward with hardly any gas until it decides to shift to second which results in a jerk into second.

I don't disagree with your assessment that a transmission is more expensive than a plastic part in the dash, but I would imagine those transmissions are replaced to minimize shop time for the customer and the dealership, and to make sure qualified people are making the repairs. Those will transmissions will likely be sent somewhere to be repaired/rebuilt, then reused for future warranty work.

Redesigning a part requires time and money to figure out how to change the part to remedy the issue, build and test prototypes, have new molds designed and made, then issue a recall to address the issue. That could get very expensive, unless GM can make a part from an existing vehicle work.

Out of curiousty for those having the issue did you ever notice that when you turn the car off the dash throws error saying to put the car in park even though its in park? I ask as our 16 2SS built Oct started randomly going into limp mode and we get the dash error saying to put vehicle in park even though its in park.
