Someone posted this in another thread. I sent them a couple of questions and if it fits on my 2020 ZL1, I will give it a try:

Plus you have to carry a giant piece of steel and mess with it every time you enter/exit the vehicle. The Mobilistics intelligent relay option mentioned above looks far more efficient and owner friendly to me.

Now this is an excellent idea. Simple and no wiring. Just replace your fuel pump relay in the fuse box and activate it.

And just thinking, if you are worried about theft, just pull out the fuel pump relay and take it with you if you are traveling or if you are in a high theft area or for whatever reason. Won't stop thieves with a flat bed but they won't be driving it off.

Why the fuel pump? They could keep cranking it over and over. Why not just the starter fuse?

Both could work.

I was thinking fuel pump just in case they tried to jack up the front and short the terminals on the starter to start the car. But I don't know if this works the same as it used to on new cars.

And if someone was just trying to crank a car over and over, I would imagine that would draw some attention.

But without that fuel relay, the car is not going anywhere under its own power.

The thing to keep in mind is that there is no guarantee against a determined car thief.

If only this were real:

You suggested that previously. I shared the starting schematic in Post #34 that shows exactly what the starting fuse does. Instead of interrupting a 30A fuse, just interrupt the starting relay coil wiring - it's much smaller.

If the ECM thinks the engine is cranking, then it's likely pumping fuel. I'd rather jump start a battery from cranking then deal with a flooded engine.

A kill switch is only useful if it's A. used and B. hidden. And because it removes remote start capability, it may not be used. But, if you're concerned that your car can be stolen at any moment, I'm not sure remote starting makes sense anyway.

I don't recommend anyone share or suggest kill switch hiding locations in a public forum. So we'll just let everyone be unique and creative. Just make sure you're going to use it.

Removing access to the OBD port is the most logical first step since it's required regardless.

I just put the car in transport mode when I cant have it in my garage. Makes the car basically useless for what these guys want to do with it, sideshows / takeovers. Car wont go over 25mph in that mode. They can drive it but going that slow is bound to attract a cops attention.

Curious where you got this from? I thought I remembered a thread on here where someone had just bought their Camaro out of area, drove it home, and the CEL was on the whole way... Turned out to be because the dealer didn't take it out of Transport Mode... Would have to believe that being speed limited to 25MPH would have been the primary complaint in that thread.

Of course, I may have my wires crossed and am not remembering the thread correctly.

My 2nd post was asking why the fuel pump fuse that’s all. Not reposting.

Basically if u pull the starter fuse the engine will not crank demanding more fuel. The fuel pump primes when you get in car before u start it, it does in my M6 1LE. So talking about flooding makes no sense when you can’t crank the engine over. Everyone has there own ways of doing this, mine is just different from yours.

So looking in the owners manual for my 2017, the K2 relay in the engine bay fuse box is for "Run/Crank" so I would assume this is for the starter.

Interestingly, the relay in the trunk fuse box for the fuel pump is also labeled K2.

I would think if you pulled both of these, it would ensure the car can't be started.
