Carbon fiber hood

Has anyone purchased or have any thoughts or opinions on the Seibon TS style hood. Or any other manufactures that are known for great carbon fiber work. I’m looking for one that is ready to install “wet”. I don’t want to have to get clear sprayed on it when I get it.

Thanks

I've got the Seibon TSII... great looking hood, great fit... has held up great for years now. No fading, plenty of clear coat on it to buff anything out - says my detailer.

You will not regret getting one. Plus... a bit of weight loss...

My Opinion - VIS Racing, Siebon, Anderson Composites are the best. I got the VIS Terminator hood, it was "flawless" and bolted right on with little tweaking for flushness at the Fascia. Reused the Hood Prop rod and W/S Squirter assy. Gelcoat/Urethane finish is awesome, but painted the underside for a finished look. Not worried about hood pins as it is rigid enough and not gonna fly off.
My Deck Lid and Rockers were from Siebon, also nice but not as good as the VIS Hood. MUST inspect closely for damage or cracks UPON delivery, hold the truck driver and open the box to look, cause then if you accept it you own it. These parts DO crack if mishandled. Usually ship from California which is a long truck drive.
Note: for owners who my have a small crack like I did on my Deck lid panel (missed it on inspection, right in the middle of the last pic), they can be "repaired" by mixing some thinned out clear Urethane with a little black in it and dabbing the mix into the crack a few times, then clearing with a air brush, wet sanding it, and buff. Can't even tell it is there now.
Yeah - I like Carbon Fiber parts.

I have been debating between the two hoods and the vis ams. We’re y’all able to reuse the shock and window spray nozzles without having to drill holes? Spec how high is the scoop on your hood? Is it close to factory height or higher?

How much weight savings did that add up to?

Sorry I missed this the first time...

Short answer is YES - I was able to reuse all hardware... plug and play, including the water line equipment, prop bar, and hinges. No new holes had to be drilled... it was amazing to me how well made this thing was when I first installed it... and the perfect fit. You will not regret getting the SEIBON.

The Cowl height is the same as stock... the vents are fully functional, and come with covers (on the underneath side) that are installed by fasteners.

Anderson and VIS are the only two to look at. Just remember to get a good set of hood pins and a good carbide pit to drill through the carbon fiber.

Anderson is SEIBON. Just FYI...

Also, hood pins are not necessary on the TSII.

I like the fact that the Seibon is able to reuse all of the factory hardware but the extra height of the scoop on the VIS is what has me not knowing what to do. If Seibon was a little taller it would be no question. I don’t think you can just clip the water line equipment etc... onto the VIS.

Oh man, so much hood porn.

Is it wrong that I would rather look at Carbon Fiber hoods and trunks than scantily clad ladies?

I called SEIBON about the required hood pins and they told me they were not needed. Hood fits like stock. Front latch, rear hinges. I've had NO issues at high speeds.
