LT4 Supercharger with ADM Performance

Andy installed his LT4 Supercharger Package with RotoFab and I'm picking it up today! As you can imagine, I'm very excited. I came to my 6 Gen Camaro from a Cammed C6 Z06 making 560 at the wheels. With that in mind, it's never "felt" fast; relatively speaking of course. That should change today.

I debated long and hard on PD vs Centrifugal, as they both have their positives and negatives. I've installed a Centrifugal before and I could save on labor, but Andy's package deal is so attractive that it made it a relatively simple choice for me (check out his site for packages). Add to that, I never could get comfortable with the air filter being exposed in the engine bay over the headers. I know the intercooler is supposed to mitigate the extra heat, but I just prefer the air to come from outside.

I'm very happy with the numbers; 589hp/581tq...stock exhaust. I'll have to be judicious with the throttle, especially as the weather cools, as it's making peak torque at just over 2.5K RPM.

I'll be registering for the Texas Mile in March and I'm looking forward to seeing what she'll do. I'm guessing in the 170's. While that's not the 186 I saw in the Vette, I'll bet it'll be a less harry ride.

Thanks to Andy. Great service and product.

Glad you posted. I've been on the fence about the centi/PD myself.
Looking forward to some driving and seat of the pant reports.

Glad to see we met your expectations .

With that being said,I see this in your future with no need to replace the blower - https://youtu.be/YloCF1SbIG8

More than met my expectations Andy. I’ve already told the wife that I’ll be adding the gage you can put the tunes into.

Coming from a cammed C6Z, it’s a completely different animal. You don’t have to get into the higher RPM to really have fun. So, you don’t have to break the law, as much, enjoy the power. The amount of power/torque available from the first inch of throttle input is just insane.

The biggest challenge for me will be acclimating to the instant power and knowing how to get the most from it without swapping ends.

I noticed the same difference when I went and test drove a stock 7k mile 2007 C6Z & a 2016 1SS A8 back to back. C6Z definitely was stronger above 4k rpm, but the SS was sooo much more response down low. Overall more fun to street drive all around. So I ended up buying a SS...The LS7 and LS3 are mushy down low.

Add me to the list of recent ADM hot rods.

Just returned from the almost 1200 mile trip. Car made 590whp/583tq. My dad found the dyno sheet so intimidating he would not go for a ride....I will tell you it feels like the front end is lifted under acceleration. Different feeling coming from the bone stock LT1. Real happy I have big brakes.

-Andy, that red car 700+ hp/tq must be crazy to drive. Amazing how far you can take this 1.7 blower.

I had a cammed C6Z also. I had about 540 at the wheels and you're right. The fun started in that car around 4k rpms at 65 or 70ish. I enjoyed the car, but in DFW traffic it was pretty tough to manage in start and stop traffic. I think the A8 I have with the PD blower will be a pretty solid combo all the way around.

If I had more than a mile, yes, 190 may be possible. In the TX Mile event, you have just that, a mile. No way I’ll hit terminal velocity in a mile. My Z06 did 186 in the mile with 560 to the wheels and better aero.

Being that the ZL1’s are doing low 170’s in the mile, that’s what I’m expecting; maybe a little more, as I think the SS is a touch more slippery.

That said, 174 is impressive for a stock SS.

ZL1 has more downforce than the SS, so I would expect an ADM equipped SS to do a little better in the standing mile than the ZL1. Good tires and a good driver are more important with the lower downforce as well.

My guess is 180 flat.

I’d love for you to be right. I’ll be happy with 175 and ecstatic with 180. When I went with the Z06, my goal was 180 and finished with 186. If I can surpass my goal in he Camaro in the same manner, I’ll be one happy guy.
