GM Lowering Kit vs Eibach

I plan on lowering, but can't decide between Eibach and the GM Lowering Kit.

On my 5th Gen, I lowered on BMR springs, but always felt I was compromising shock performance by taking them out of the range for which they were designed.

While the GM Kit doesn't lower as much as the Eibach springs, it is designed with the shocks and springs to be in their optimum range.

For those in the know, if one uses the Eibachs, is performance compromised by any measurable amount? Are the shocks adversely affected? It would save $1K. That said, decisions in the past have taught me the extra money, in some cases, is worth it.

It should also be noted that I plan to upgrade to ZL1 wheel/tire sizes when my stock tires need replacing.

I'm planning to sell my GM Lowering kit off my car as soon as coilovers become available. That would save you even more if you can wait!

bc ones should be out soon! afe power is already working on some as well

I thought so too but they're still officially saying 6-8 weeks. Especially since a member or two already has a promo set!

I would really like to go with the GM kit, but too pricey for me. I do think the engineers were very consciouse of keeping good ride quality with the matching shocks and the 3/4" drop. In my experience, any drop springs are going to affect ride quality to some degree. It's just a matter if it's too much to tolerate. On my Gen5, I had BMR 1.25 inch drop and sway bars and the ride became harsh but not intolerable. This time out, I really would like to keep as close to the quality ride of the stock setup if at all possible.

I have the BMR street springs dropped 1" and pretty tolerable. Installing sway bars did stiffen it up a bit but again pretty tolerable. I even took it on a 1000 road trip no problem.
