Do I need the X pipe if I go with the Flowmaster NNP

I am looking at different axle backs and understand that it is mostly for sound not a lot of gains are made post cat. My question is it essential to go with the X pipe when you install the Flowmaster axle back in NPP? Do you think it's mostly for sound or actually helps in the performance side too?

Good question, one which I'm interested in myself. On the stock exhaust system, I am sure it provides a gain. but with a much freer flowing set of mufflers I am sure the gain is minimal.

May also help cancel out the drone

Not essential. Sounds maybe a little louder. Zero extra power.

If you're at all interested, you could order the Hurst system (which is the exact same as the Flowmaster version) for a little bit less money.
