Thinking about canceling the A8 recall

So have a appointment for tomorrow to have the A8 transmission line recall performed , but after reading all the horror stories might take my chance. I just don't really want the car to come back worse off than before... I bought it last Oct and it is sitting right at 4000 miles right now... If it was up to you would you go through with it or cancel it?

Thanks

I had mine done, only 1500 miles, told them I did not want it changed unless needed, and with so few miles I didn't think it would need changed. Upon inspection it was not rubbed through as the recall cautions, but there was a tight bend in the area of the body bolt. So cut the bolt and changed the line.

Do it... no problems here.

On the forum, you're going to read about members that had problems more than those that did not. I had mine done about 2 months ago and haven't had any issues. Same with a buddy - no issues.

You need to keep what you read here in perspective. This community represents only the smallest of sample sizes of Gen 6 owners. Complaints will show up here way more frequently because it has become a location for some to vent both real and perceived issues.

Got mine done, screw fell out on the splash guard when i pulled in the driveway.
I had to remove the fascia anyhow to install Whipple SC kit. So all missing screws (4) broken (1) and clean all the ATF fluid wasn't a issue. Some one had to go back and redo it....

I went ahead and dropped it off after work today, got me a CRUZE as a loaner.. I just asked the service writer if he wouldn't mind keeping it inside.. " NO problem we can do that" he said. He told me should be done tomorrow or Wed ..
