A few cars have gone high 11's stock engine, no cam, no heads, just a few.

Based on how those guys got there they had weight reduction, gear (or shorter tires), and everything else.

I'm trying to run 11.99 the way I drive the car every day, no skinnies. I'm at 12.20 now, but I have pulled some weight out (lighter 18's), have a lighter battery to install (30 lbs lighter) and if I can sneak out the funds I'll try a set of M/T's and see if they hook better. Also have a guy modding an intake for me. All that should go 11.99. As for 11.80, well, maybe. But I bet I'll need skinnies.

Another thought. With just a stall, tune, and a mild centrifugal supercharger install I would think reliable high 11s is very possible with stock tires. Centrifugals are not all that heavy and avoid most of the additional heat soak problems associated with FI.

The car would drive almost stock unless you really put your foot in it, and if you kept the exhaust quiet you would have a real sleeper. Then if you ever wanted 10s, they would not be far away. But you would have to spring for a cage most likely.

And then when and if you move on to another car the SC can be unbolted and resold. Then just put the stock tune back in.

Thankss for everybody sharing their veiw points.. Does the Camaro seem to fair a PD SC over a centri due to the fact its a heavier car? I know on the 4.6 3v the only way you can seen some real power to the ground have to sc it, to where's the LS based motors give you and option to either go NA or FI.. My cams on the stamg was 800 bucks compared to 399-432 for a decent cam in the L99/LS3 .
