Incredible shrinking tires

Not shrinking of course, but I found it interesting how much the sidewall rolls over when mounted. First stack are 3r's mounted on track wheels and second stack is a newish set of unmounted tires.

Are they on 11" and 12" widths and still shrink that much?

I'm going to be pinching a 305 G3R on a 10" front for my vette. I did the same with the 305 G3 on my Camaro.

Not really for the nuts, but they do seem to be sorta like condoms for the wheels?

They are mounted on OEM widths.

In this pic, even the diameter looks smaller like one is 19 inchers and the other is 20 of the exact Centimeter and ratio sized tire. Wild

Its because the wheel is too narrow and its pulling the side wall in. Put them on a wheel where its as wide as the tire and that won't happen.

So are you saying the stock rim is too small? Mine are mounted on stock rims and they do this.

You sure about this pic? I know they will be slightly more narrow when mounted but that sure looks like more than normal. That looks more like two different tire sizes.

Probably a good thing, or there would be a lot of shredded wiring harnesses and wheel well liners.
