18 Heads cam build
Hey guys I'm going to attempt to document my winter build. I am by no means computer savvy so I will try my best. It's a 18 ZL1 M6 I bought last year with 900 miles on it. Over the past year I did a KONG ported blower, NW 103 TB, RotoFab big gulp, ATI w/ 9.1 lower, Kooks 2" headers, Borla resonated mid section and S type exhaust, MM catch can and Cordes 1 gallon reservoir tank. The car made 719 rwhp on a Dynocom and it was an absolute blast to drive. Move forward a year and I am wanting more. New mods include:
MTI cam kit (custom specs 22x/24x 6xx/6xx 112icl w/ 116lsa), BTR V2 trunnion s, C5r timing chain, New GM oil pump, FED ported heads, Cordes performance 2.5 gallon bumper tank, Cordes Aux fuel system w/ flex and a 2.3 upper pulley. Some tear down pics

Found this permatex gasket remover foam that worked great for removing the old RTV off the front cover and oil pan. Brushed it on then scraped it off with plastic razor blades. I had to raise the engine just slightly with a lift to get the pan off

Looks like a great winter project! I’d suggest the Katech oil pump instead of a GM one, in my humble opinion. Any fueling mods in the works?

Very similar to what I just did to my car, I opted with the "newer" GM oil pump, Katech doesnt have any information on how long it will be before they are shipping! :/ I had to do some serious fueling changes on my build to run E65. Triple fore systems in tank pump, 30% over injectors and a cam with a 38% fuel lobe. I wanted to do the big bore Lingenfelter high side but I could find one available! I think they said 6-8 weeks! It gives you about 10% more flow I think is what they said. Hoping for mid to low 9's with this build, it made 877WHP on E65.

There really is no word on the Katech pumps yet and as far as I know the new GM pump will be just fine also the $125 vs $499 had alot to do with it. Only fueling mods are the Cordes aux pump w/ flex and a 38% lobe on the cam. I'm hoping to be good for E60, if not I ill prob go with the FIC 30%.

The 2.3 upper with 9.1 lower is going to add some heat. Any plans on Methanol injection?

Not at the moment, I have to see what the IAT's are when I start to tune it. I'm hoping the bumper tank will keep them in check. If not I wouldnt mind adding in some meth for cooling purposes

Did you do a cam phaser lockout as part of your kit?
We considered the LME VVT delete kit and C5R chain. But currently waiting on another factory phaser (messed the first one up). |

Yes I did a phaser lockout. I was looking to go that route since it would take rotating weight off the front of the cam but at my power level and RPM's it really wasnt needed. I think they said over 7k is when you will benefit from it.

My WELD S77 beadlocks and M/T ET street R's came in today. Spent the afternoon mounting them up and checking the fitment. Everything fit perfect. They are 17x10's w/ 7.2 backspacing, high pad and a 5x120mm bolt pattern. The tires are 305/45-17's
