Weapon X LT4 Higher Volume Blower Lid incoming

Waiting on the official release announcement but looks like Weapon X will be releasing a LT4 lid with increased plenum volume (above the revised Z06 / OEM ZL1 LT4 lid volume). Originally noted to be in carbon fiber possibly, they have said it likely will not be after all for the material.

I've emailed them a few times to determine if a tune is needed, looking at results etc, waiting on final confirmation but they did confirm more noise and more plenum volume than our OEM lids on the ZL1s. NX's lid has the same volume albeit with an airflow divider and is backordered until like 2056.

Couple of previous pics below where they were showing prototypes and such and a link to the page on their website:

(LT5-focused description in the link but they def confirmed LT4 is incoming hopefully in a month or so to me via email and they are posting teaser stuff on their Facebook page):

looks sweet the carbon fiber one from Vararam is coming soon to. And if you know Patrick he goes above and beyond to make sure all cylinders get fed equally and that its going to flow very well.

Curious if this will help with flow as well as heat since the 1.7 SC is so small?

Good question. My guess would be that it will help in both areas. I have never quantified it but it seems that mine has run a bit cooler after the NX lid was installed.

Easy to check with a thermal remote temp gun. I might be able to pick one up and do a test on temps after some hard runs.

Curious to know, new to owning a supercharger of any kind, what would be the benefit of increasing the plenum volume? Basically, besides heat soak, what is the benefit of buying a product like this?

I'm subscribed, I was thinking in ordering the NX lid until I upgraded to a 2650.

Well they have vains on the inside for a reason.. helps with flow and channeling.. this is important certain cylinders starve its always the ones in the back like 7 I think. if lid is designed and flowed and not just appearance mod it will help more than just adding volume.

So far none of the lids have made as much power as advertised unless tested by vendor making them. If NX lid really made 20 hp as they claim more people would run them. Same with LMP claiming theirs "requires a tune" yet zero third party testing. DSX and DMS both made their own raised lid with negligible differences so they never brought them to market. Vararam has been working on an intake for LTs for several years so a lid from them likely has a 2030 ETA.
