spoiler conversion

Hey there,

I have a 2018 2LT RS pack V6 with the lip style spoiler.

I want to convert it to the "zl1" style which is a platform spoiler, you can get as an option for the 6 cylinder cars. I have attached two photos of what I have the lip style and the platform.

Will I be able to convert sucessfully??

Help!!

So the existing holes will not line up to attach this spoiler? I know there is 4 holes and a plastic tab that attaches the lip to the trunk.

you will have exposed holes which dont line up. either you change the trunks with SS or buy high rise spoiler from GM, which is perfect fit for RS

IMO it’s not worth it. Instead buy a 1LE, High wing, or Aftermarket Spoiler. You’d be spending a whole lot of money for the sake of a spoiler that could go elsewhere for mods, wheels, etc. I was quoted $470 to have holes from the pedestal spoiler done correctly and deck lid painted. To buy a deck lid you’d probably also be spending $500-$600. You’d lick out to find someone willing to swap deck lids but that is probably very far and few between.

Switched mine to this style and no mods required. Bolts right in. Love this look. This is actually the same spoiler as the 2018 Hot Wheels 50th anniversary

my wife got me this one on amazon. I link you in a bit. Fits well. Took mine to a body shop and they installed it for $70. Took about an 1 1/2.

I had the non-RS trunk lid with no holes, bought an SS spoiler for $100 then drilled the holes myself. Messed up one hole but it was so close to the others that with the double-sided tape no water goes in and the wing itself is sturdy.

Since you already have the blade spoiler you will most likely have to sick with that version. The SS spoiler doesn’t line up with the current hole placement on your trunk and yours has additional holes in the middle section of your trunk lid
