Crankshaft reccomendations

Thinking of stroking my engine. I have forged pistons and rods already, I left the stock crank in when I built it last time. The car is going under the knife again in 6 to 8 weeks and I am debating on just swapping the stock crank for a forged Callies.

Questions are what crank should I go with, even if its not a Callies, and where do you recommend I buy one? I will most likely source it through my builder as well.

The Callies Compstar is a good crank at a reasonable price.

Will a stroker crank work with your existing pistons?

Part number? Purchasing source?

I don't see why not....But I don't know to answer that question.

If you're going with a 4" stroke AP031N-CS58, always verify part # when ordering your application may be different than mine. Summit, Jegg's, they are pretty readily available.

Typically, when using a stroker crank you run the risk of the piston skirts hitting the crank thus the need for stroker pistons. I believe the Compstar's crank is relieved for additional clearance but every combination is different so it should be checked.

Has anyone tried the somewhat recently released Dart Billet crank? It seems to be priced similarly to the forged cranks on the market.

Callies Compstar Great Value I'm not going over a 1000 on spray so it was plenty. If would have went more builder would have put a Dragonslayer in it.

You can't put in a stroker crank with the stock length rods and pistons. The piston pin location is different for each individual stroke, so you have to match up the piston for the right rod length and crank stroke.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

Considering everything, I guess I'll just spend the money elsewhere. Thanks everyone for responding.

Callies#1 in our book

We have never had a bad compstar or dragonslayer crank or magnum crank

In fact we have never had bad anything from Callie's.

I've only had 2 issues with Calles. The 8 months it took to get a crank, and the complete pain in the ass to pin it for the blower because it is so damn hard. Other than that, absolutely top notch stuff.
