Agree...The only real difference between the 2 gear ratio wise is 4-5-6. 1-3 is pretty similar. That being said I doubt the difference will be much...maybe 1 tenth and 1 mph in the 1/4.

The A10 is one heck of a transmission. I have been reading about it in the forums and road test reports. Guys who have taken test drives in the Stang GT's rave about how good it is. The A10 in the GT really improves the 0-60 times over the manual 6 speed- from a (slow) 4.4 to 3.9- in Camaro SS territory.

It's got to be so much better than the crappy A8. I would not buy anything with the A8 tranny in it after my experience with my Camaro and the shuddering issue and the GM tech informing me of all of the issues and how crappy of a transmission it is. My horrible experience drove me away from GM altogether even though I love the Silverados and may get one some day- with the A10!

Got a 2ss fifty A8
And now a ZL1 A10
Trans are completely different, A10 is way above A8
Switching super fast under charge...
Elsd and diff are better....

So for sure it will be better!
It isn't the same transmission or programming.

eLSD isn't available with A10 except on the ZL1

There are so many differences that you can't make an accurate comparison at this point.

Anyone who says the A8 is good at anything other than wide open throttle is nuts. The A8 is a horrible daily driven transmission. The shudder is a huge issue as well but we wont know if the A10 suffers from it for a while. depends on how much slip they have programmed in for the AFM switch over. I think in 0-60 there will be almost zero difference but the car should backhalf better without the horrible 4-5 drop off. Maybe we will finally see some videos where our cars aren't getting realed back in right after the 4-5 shift.

My opinion here the area this A10 will show gains over the A8 is around the 110+ mph mark right where the A8 shifts into 5th gear.

I have the exact same opinion as well. Everything will be the same compared to the A8 otherwise. Just that top end.

You're exaggerating and also disregarding changes between 2016 and 2018 such as torque converter and fluid updates. I had the 8L45 and it came with minor issues from day 1, but the 8L90 I have now is near perfect, no shudder, no clunky 1-2 shift, no lurch on 3-1 shift, smooth when needed and hardcore in performance shift mode. The main issue IMO is longevity and the shudder, which is a disgrace, but saying in absolute terms that it's horrible for daily driving is way overboard.

And mine has the updated converter, updated valve body, and fluid. This trans is not refined at all. Drive one of the new A10 cars and you see the HUGE difference in shift refinement

Hope not. I got it tuned yesterday, AFM was deleted as well, and it already has the new fluid. No shudder ever as yet, but I wanted to be proactive. This is pretty much all I can do about this transmission.

Still like the way the 8L90 shifts on this car, I'm simply not seeing these other (non-shudder) issues people raise as design flaws that are present from day 1. Oh, and I also understand the A10 would've been better; alas, it was not offered for the 2018 SS.
