exhaust tips

I have a lot of carbon build up on my exhaust tips and I was wondering what people process you use to clean them and what you prefer to use to clean them.

Eagle One never dull metal polish, sold at Wal Mart. Inexpensive and works really well. Wear gloves and use in a ventilated area.

Soap and Water for the most part. Adams shampoo and a non-plush/dedicated MF towel that I use just for the tips.

I've also used these on more stubborn tailpipe grime:
* Bug and tar remover.
* Stainless steel cleaner (kitchen appliance type)

I polish mine with a cone and cordless drill every few weeks, along with cleaning them with some detailer mix after every drive. Stay clean and polished all the time. I also put Reload on them twice a year.

I used to use 00 steel wool for the inside. I painted the inside black on my Borla setup.

Recently just came across this on my Facebook page. Detailers Domain had a post April 4th, showing Adams Polishes Metal Polish #2, some fine steel wool, a microfiber towel and a pair of gloves. Before/After pics on a C7.

Get a Mothers power cone. Then use any mothers polish or any metal polish to get them polished before you seal them with something. The hand cannot move at 1500 RPM, if you want to polish a tip, you need to do it with some type of electrified polisher That will actually smooth the metal, not just clean it.

0000 Steel Wool works for me, then finish off with Metal Polish if you desire. Simple and no issues.

I got this foam ball from The Chemical Guys

https://www.chemicalguys.com/Ball_Bu...t_p/acc400.htm

and their light metal polish

https://www.chemicalguys.com/Light_M...spi_404_16.htm

you can make them shine like better than new in about 5 seconds each
