Pretty wild. Wonder if they'll be able to make a v8 mid engine Corvette sticker in the low 60s range, could be enticing to a lot of Porsche owners who aren't loyalists.

I've never met a Porsche owner that ISN'T a loyalist.

If a person is a Porsche owner, does CrossFit, and is Vegan---which one do they tell you about first?

this is super promising. I mean at first it wont get taken seriously because its GM's first real attempt at it, but given their track record of upsetting the likes of Ferrari and Porsche with the Z06 and the C6 ZR1 I foresee this thing making some big news IF/when it ever makes it into production.

I can't believe this is finally happening after half a century of rumor. The thing that I wonder about is how they are going to make it work financially. Developing an entirely new mid engine drivetrain and platform for use only in a low volume top tier Vette? $$$$$

The GMI rendering may be "plain" but it fits production reality. There is a limit to how exotic you can get a vehicle to be while maintaining a realistic American price point.

Tho that rendering does scream 458 Italia...which isn't a bad thing since the Stingray was likely "inspired" by the F12 and California.

The C7 supposedly was going to be mid engine but the 2010 bailout made that not happen. There is rumored to be a good deal of the ground work done from then. If/when this goes down they will inevitably transition to the C8 being completely mid engine layout. I can't see it working financially otherwise.
