ZL1 1LE Caliper part numbers

I understood earlier on that the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE calipers were different and had different rotor sizes.. According to the Chevrolet site, they both have the same size rotors and I am therefore assuming the same calipers (just a different colour).

The regular ZL1 calipers seem to run about $250 each, which isnt much more than it would cost to have my stock calipers powder coated (like properly done), but I cant nail down the part numbers for the 1LE calipers.

Can anyone confirm that the ZL1 1LE calipers will interchange with a regular ZL1, and if so, what are the part numbers?

Thanks!

The ZL1 and ZL1 1LE brakes (J6H code) are identical other than caliper color. Someone can verify these...

RF A1Z Caliper 84229191
LF A1Z Caliper 84229190
RR A1Z Caliper 84212290
LR A1Z Caliper 84212289

You're correct, those should be the PNs for the red ZL1 1LE calipers. PNs for the gunmetal ZL1 calipers should be:

FL: 84229171
FR: 84229172
RL: 84022228
RR: 84022227

Thanks - Seems like the site I was looking at had the rears listed as fronts. Seems that the rears run about $250 and fronts are a bit over $500 (each).

Yup, only difference between them is color and decal.

From what year? In theory over the last 3 generations of V the different rotor diameter and caliper sizes currently available on the Camaro are there, but I have no idea if the rotor/caliper offsets will be a direct bolt-on fit for the Camaro hub/knuckle offsets.

What's your motivation to get CTS-V calipers instead of the other sizes of Camaro calipers? Aesthetics? Easier to find or cheaper than Camaro parts?

V3 CTS-V (16-current) use J6H brakes (same as 17+ ZL1) with same rotor, pad, and calipers (not including the colors / logos). As FYI, J57 front calipers (Z28, C6/C7Z's with CCB's) are the same as J6H (not including the colors / logos). If you look at the back side of the J6H front rotor, you can see the machined slot for the CCB pad wear sensor to snap into.

Thanks for the info. Just priced 1LE calipers and the dealer quoted me $900.00 plus for the front each. Ouch!

There here, note the "replaced by" part numbers in the description: https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts-l...per-front.html

You can choose colors called Gold, Gunmetal, or Red.
