How many would just order a Borla ATAK system in response....
They should have heard my old Firebird. 541ci V8 with 4" pipes to Borla Sportsman Race mufflers. (No, wasn't my choice, but was so hilariously over the top loud I left it. Most people agreed, too loud, but it's hilarious)

Seems like a respectable letter and was not being a A-Hole about it. I would respect her wishes.

Everyone is an internet tough guy. It’s as simply as starting in stealth and driving a couple blocks away before putting it back in sport. How difficult is it to be courteous to each other? The F you attitude is a total lack of concern and maturity.

Neighbors hate my cars too. Don’t care, I instantly put them into stealth mode and they still complain. I’m not getting rid of my cars bc my neighbors don’t approve

"Now, the roar of the engine, when it jumps to life, in the morning, with a cold start is one the the major reasons I bought the car. "
******** Was one of the factors that made me buy the car! ********** I have something of the same issue around here, but pertains to shooting in a rural setting. This is a FARM COMMUNITY, where there are noises, smells, and dust associated with such, and it's written in the town laws. 2010, a couple snowflakes/twinkies moved in next door where one of the town cops lived for decades. Both he and I used to target shoot, and he qualified rookies at his place. Well after he moved, these new neighbors put up what I'd call a piss and moan session about my shooting, said there had to have been an ordinance against it, etc. I told them. 1. This is a farm community. 2. There is -NO- ordinance. 3. I'm on relatively good terms with the PD. 4. I have a recognized target range. 5. If they didn't want to hear such they shouldn't have moved here, and knew full well what goes on here. ****** Personally, on a car startup getting a complaint, especially when I made a distinct effort to keep my driving civil, I'd tell them to keep the doors/windows closed, and suck their thumb. Compare that startup to an old McCullough chain saw being started early morning. Those would loosen the fillings in your teeth, and significantly damage hearing. |

It seems to me to be a courteous and reasonable letter. Not sure why there's all this hate about it. Life can't always be about me me me . . . A little courtesy can go a long way.
The letter writer could have always just called the cops and had them come by with a sound meter. |

There's no hate in my post intended. My gripe, we have the issue of many transplants that want to move in, and bring all their city crap-laws and ordinances with them, and impose it on the longtime/lifelong residents. (the out of stater- plates are unbelieveable after we passed the pot law here- and they aren't all young kids, either.)
They invariably vote for new schools, HSI, pass laws, bring in crime, and raise everyones' taxes. Then they move out, and crap all over the next town they hit. My tolerance, after I expend reasonable effort with an issue, will only go so far. If they push it, they can go pound mud. |
