I agree, ever since 2016 I always said if I got a new one it would have to be Hyper Blue....It is their best blue since the IROC days. I hope they decide to show everyone the '19 soon, I believe the cut off date for ordering a '18 is May 24th.

Guys...
Chevy is not going to be putting a V6 turbo to rival the 6.2 in this generation. Not gonna happen. IF some sort of new turbo is coming during this refresh it would be: 1) A turbo 1LE. I think this is most likely. 2)A slightly hotter version of the current 2.0. But this gets into V6 territory. 3) A larger turbo 4, but then there is no reason for a V6. 4) As said above, a small turbo V6 making around 330/330. I think this would be sweet, but very doubtful. Neither of the last two engines currently exist.

The ZL1 1LE destroys the GT-R in every way. Why are we having this conversation? Last edited by fastball; 04-08-2018 at 06:39 PM. |

New turbo is probably the long awaited auto-x concept.

The piece price of a TT V6 would be SOOOOOO MUCH HIGHER than the LT1 with no more performance. And for those imagining the a GTR besting HP need to remember GM already has a superior LT4 that still costs significantly less.
Sorry but it makes no sense.......unless you are willing to pay $2,500 more for a TT V6 over an LT1. Then GM might think there was a business case. But who of you lusting for a TT V6 would pay a huge premium with no HP advantage?

50% chance that GM is going to drop the "V6" like Ford.

The reason Ford dropped the 3.7 is because Ford had wierdly positioned the Mustang trim and equipment for the V6 lower than the Ecoboost and relegated it to rentals. GM did the right thing with the 6th gen Camaro, and sales of the V6 remain strong.
There are a lot of V6 owners on this forum, I am pretty sure more than turbo 4. |
