Any tips for getting up rhino ramps?

I was going to pull my car up my yellow ramps the other day to take a good look underneath but the black pieces underneath the front bumper touched the ramps and I didn't want to bend them. I was curious if anyone had any ideas before I look into different ramps bc the race ramps I saw with extensions looked really expensive

hold on to your chair...I expect if it's like the other forums we will get the extremes:

it's needed for cooling (the car will blow up in traffic, brakes warp, etc!)
it's needed for aerodynamics (really?, for going to the store?)
it's needed to protect the brakes (umm no...)
it's needed to tell you when you are pulling up too far ( if you are parking by sound, you have other problems)

Mine coming off this weekend. The corvette has them too, and someone asked a GM engineer at the bash if they really were needed and his answer was " we found they work well on the car at high speed over 125 mph"

I think I'm fine without them on a grocery getter....you decide what works for you!

aerodynamics, to keep the car from shaking at high speeds. gen 5 has it too, but not as big.

they are flexible, but if they are like the ones on the gen 5, they can break off. in gen5 they were held in place with some plastic screws ($300+/- to replace them) intended to break easily and prevent damage to the whole bumper.

I believe your question was actually regarding ideas on how to get up the ramps, and not what the flap was for. Get a couple 2x6's and lay them on the ground before the ramp to get the car higher before the flaps get to the ramp. Then you can remove the 2x6's if you want to roll a jack stand/creeper underneath. Just don't forget to put them back before you roll back down. My last car was too low for ramps, had to use this trick for ramps, or even just to get regular jack under it.

Actually you dont. They go under the splitter still. They are very much still there in the instructions. unless you decide to remove them.
