This Camaro is the coolest thing since Hot Wheels came out in the 60's.

I just want everyone to be able to enjoy it, with a few less headaches...

Don't make me buy a Camry
Lol it's a great car and no not a Camry I hear there reliable but you would lose the cool factor

What I mean is I don't want to buy a super-reliable but boring as hell Camry.

They're just very good appliances. Not fun.

However, more than a few are waiting for GM to solve a few important problems before pulling the trigger.

Camaro to Camry is: Life to Death

But, service department mayhem is something I can do without.

Fix the tq, the diff, the defrosters leaking onto windshield...

I started a pre-delivery inspection list:

Front fascia – color match to body. Fit to hood (gap and level, flush hood to fascia)
Paint defects – Blemishes, debris, dirt, scratches, and thin coverage
Paint thin or missing in door jambs, under hood, wheels, etc
Defroster vents leaking cold air onto windshield in A/C mode, causing condensation build up.

Differential noise when cold and turning
Coolant leaks at full operating temp
Fluid leaks from engine, trans, cooler lines
A/C recirculation door sticks, pops
NPP exhaust butterflies – for rattles when running
Squeaks or rattles over bumpy surface
Door rattles from speaker bass
Wind noise leaks

Or, have somebody deliver a boring-ass, but near perfect Camry and take a nap...

Wow that's a big list!

I get the the condensation issue.

Before I took delivery a wire was pinched under the passenger seat they fixed it in about a half an hour while I waited.

Headliner is to low on front running a thin piece of vynil to hide it not bad enough for a new liner and feels solid.

That's my list but 2 are easy fixes now the condensation sucks on hot days .

I got the "Service Brake Assist" message last night. I just turned into a parking lot at maybe 20 mph stopped to back my car into a parking spot and the break felt weird and this messaged popped up. I shut down the car, finished my work in about 10 mins got back into my car, restarted it and no issue at all. Like nothing happened.

Contacted the service rep today morning and he said if it happens again setup an appointment immediately!! This happened at 7pm. 12 hrs before the service department opens the next day. How will they even run any diagnostic checks to find the issue when the issue cannot be reproduced?

Service brake assist light came on yesterday. Brakes felt very soft and pulsating a great deal. After driving a block, I pushed dismiss and the light went off. I continued to drive slowly and the problem went away. Scary feeling not have good brakes on a car with 455 hp and no emergency hand braking system . Today I took it to the local Chevy dealer and reported the issue along with the problem of brakes pulsating over the past month, most noticeable at Hwy speeds.
Technician at dealer reports no codes but did turn the front rotors. I wanted to document this issue in case it happens again.

How many times have you encountered this issue? I encountered it once last week and my wife said he also faced this issue once.

Nope because it was built in Canada by people that cared.

Biggest issue was the positive battery cable too close to the exhaust, they just rerouted it a little for the fix.

That product(Gen 6) should have been built in Canada again.

I know I will get flamed for this but the Oshawa workforce was and is older than the Lansing unit and they(Oshawa) took a lot of pride in the 5th Gen.

Nobody who knows would knock Oshawa. Great bunch of people who truly care about their products.

They were active on the 5 forum. Hope they are building something else and doing well.

However - You knew it was coming...

The Camaro is all-American. I don't even like the Mexican differentials (groan) they're putting in them.

Lansing has dedicated craftsmen and women as well, but they are being handed parts that are defective in design (some), defective in quality control (others),

and even when the defect is obvious, management says (famous GM line) "Just ship it". Management. Corporate directives.

Don't blame Lansing for GM shipping them crap parts for assembly (Too numerous to list)

Fire the Shudder-Matic 8/10 L90 transmission chief designer.

Hard to believe Vega-like engineering ignorance still exists in American vehicles.

They test it, it breaks, and they - ship 'em out!

Get a new supplier for the defroster vent leaking IP. (No I'm not throwing a rug over them)

And on, and on...

Our friends at Oshawa may have told us about this. (Nuts rolling around in trunk lid) Just ship it! But sir, it's not right! Just ship it! Ya miserable cus!

Hell, Bowling Green workers (Corvette) voted to authorize a strike vote due to several issues. One of the issues - "Don't tell us when it's "good enough", we'll tell you!"

Seems management repeatedly told line workers to ignore glaring defects.

Well, we'll tell you too GM -

There's this interweb thingy now and your customers talk. A lot.

I wanted this car bad, very bad. Did my research, and well, not gonna happen. omg

GM management: Go back to sipping SUV champagne and eating SUV caviar.

Then they shudder on home in their Tahoes (8L90 equipped) Sad!

I went to the dealer and told them about this issue. They said there was a bulletin form GM about this issue and have reprogrammed the module with GM's update. attaching a picture of the same. Anyone who is still having this issue can show this information and maybe the dealer can help you out.

Very good.

Now...is this something that anyone can go and ask to have done, or do I have to experience the issue and have a stored code?

Its just a programming update?
