2013 ZL1 1/4 mile track runs - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

First time out with the ZL1 at our local track in Bakersfield, CA last night. It is bone stock down to the tires, except for a pcv catch can. Best pass of the night was a 12.63 @ 114.13 with a 2.04 60'. Launching was difficult as the track prep wasn't that great. I was able to get 5 passes in, and with some DR's I think it will hit 11's.

Pass 1: 12.80 @ 113.76, 2.08 60'
Pass 2: Aborted, spun half the track
Pass 3: 12.71 @ 113.54, 2.05 60'
Pass 4: 12.95 @ 113.96, 2.28 60'
Pass 5: 12.63 @ 114.13, 2.04 60' *Best*

The drag strip is actually located in Famoso, a small farm town 20 minutes north of Bakersfield. Come on up to the Super Chevy meet.

Here's a video of the 12.63 run. *edit, I figured out I was in PTM2. Wasn't too familiar with the settings at the time...

Where are you located in Calif? I am in Bakersfield, and I was there Friday 5-17-13 with my CTS V Coupe and I made 5 passes also. If you are in Bakersfield we should meet for lunch.

What color was your V? I am up north closer to Fresno, will you be there next weekend?

The red Coupe, stock with Airaid CAI and a tune, 6-speed manual with street tires.....I had a tough time on the launch....made 5 passes...best was 12.24 @ 118.91 mph. I will come out and watch at the Chevy show. Have a buddy with a silver ZL1 (735 rwhp), 6-speed manual and another buddy with a 45th Anniv. (800 rwhp, LSX 427, supercharged). I will be there to watch, although I may drive the 45th on 1 pass. Here are two videos of my Coupe.

Also to the OP, with stock tires put your car in PTM 4 or 5 and use launch control.

What kind of times is your buddy running with the 735rwhp ZL1? What about the 800LSX 427 times? Thanks..

The silver ZL1 has never made a 1/4 mile pass, this weekend at Famoso Drag Strip (Super Chevy Show) should be the first pass on the car. I drove the 45th Anniv (6-speed manual) when it had about 700 rwhp and was only my second time in the car, so I'm still not use to it (very little seat time, you know launch rpm, shift points , etc) but on drag radials it went 10.74 @ 134.83 mph. Someone rear ended it a couple of weeks ago so I hope its fixed for this weekend. Here is a video with me driving against his brother in a 6 cyl Camaro, the first 17 seconds of the video are blank so keep watching.
