I'd be pissed if I had a reservation and intent on buying a base $35k model and was getting passed over month after month to produce the more expensive trims (not to mention Tesla quietly removed all traces of a $35k model from the consumer site).
I understand why Tesla is doing it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the reasons they've supposedly lost close to a quarter of the original reservations.

I can agree to that. Tesla should have been able to push out a lot of the base model, but still being able to sell that many in one month is a great thing for Tesla.

Couple people are suggesting this was just a way for Tesla to drive the stock price up.
Trading resumed up 45 at one point.

Tesla is gonna be fine. Elon was the vision, but the company has outgrown him. He should just move onto his next vision, and let the company excel.
