The rear end of the new Camaros is absolutely butt ugly. Front end is ok I guess......I will happily take my '15 Green Flash over any of the new ones.

I am more interested in if the Camaro is meeting GM's sales targets for platform longevity than I am if it outsells the competition - mostly as personal reason for not wanting to see 100 other cars on the road just like mine when I drive it.

As far as your last point, I would say they might not be hitting their target is they are trying to win back some low end model sales. I would guess they are close, maybe thought it would trend in the right direction but have now noticed that they might need to take some action to try and regain some of that low end business. |

Here is my opinion on what's wrong with the 6th gen.
1. They basically copied the 5th gen styling. No matter how good it looked, it was getting stale. 2. They didn't fix the visibility. No matter how many "disciples" they asked, not fixing the visibility was a bad decision. 3. They made it too small. The 6th gen is too tight in the interior.

I'm not so sure the lifeline is the lower end models. I think the real profit is in the loaded configurations. Could be wrong though. |

So what do we want folks? Return closer to the weight of the 5th gen for a bit more space, or less weight = more performance. The size and weight of this car is exactly what I wanted in the 5th gen...except if they could somehow shoehorn another inch or two of rear leg room it would benefit me, since I have young ones I throw back there from time to time lol.

If the Camaro was V8 only, there would likely be no Camaro.

I agree price has really gotta change my 2015 2lt was 34k and a 2lt 6th gen would run about 40k. And for a SS just forget it they are just making fools out of themselves wanting 50k for a SS. A SS isn’t that great people definitely not worth the money Chevy asks for them. I forget what it’s called but a dealer is selling brand new mustang gts with superchargers for 40k making 700 hp

I said it from day one on the 6th gen when GM announced pricing. They are OVERPRICED.
The base price of a 5th gen 1LS was 22K (2013 Price) The base price of a 6th gen with a v6 is/was 27K 5th gen 1SS - 31K 6th gen 1SS - 37K 5th gen 2SS - 35K 6th gen 2SS - 43K 5th gen ZL1 - 54K 6th gen ZL1 - 61K When you increase the price on average over 20% and your competitors hold off on increasing their prices to match. Yeah you have a problem. For 35K you get a nice v6 Camaro. For 35K you get a Mustang GT. Which would you choose? The only price increase between the 5th gen and 6th gen that I thought was spot on was the ZL1. All other models, overpriced. My 2 cents. |
